Busy Saturdays

I don't know about you, but my idea of a relaxed weekend day is probably quite the opposite of the one most people have.
Nothing goes over a little sewing, knitting, plant dyeing, etc. etc. :-)

Last Saturday was just one of these superbusyrelaxed Saturdays. The weather was stunning, considering it's mid-February, so I planned to take advantage of the warm, sunny weather and take my big dyeing cauldron out of hibernation but the ordered indigo didn't arrive in time so the whole dyeing was postponed. Let's hope for good weather next Saturday!

Luckily I have hundreds of other projects on my to do list just in case I got bored. And so I decided to finally make an attempt at my first wiking coat. I have been pushing this off for quite a while now because I was scared of cutting that lovely fabric I had bought a couple of years ago. Now I'm very happy I did.
It took me quite some time to figure out the size of the godets but I'm satisfied with the result. I's not finished yet, it still needs edging and I'm considering adding a trim or maybe some embroidery...hmmm.

It was well past ten in the evening when I finished so I didn't have the time to take a good picture BUT I want to show you SOMETHING. So here is a rather bad pic (taken with my mobile phone) as soon as the coat is finished I will make better Photos, I promise! ;-)
